The interactive tool below allows you to explore past and current trends of heritage conservation literature published in a selection of 15 established heritage conservation journals in English, French, German and Spanish in terms of the global distribution of first authors and institutional activity, and also the research topics and types of cultural heritage that have received attention in the literature.

Survey of Conservation Literature (1992-2012)

This survey has been undertaken to identify past and current trends in conservation literature. The study focused on fifteen well established conservation publications in four different languages (English, French, German, and Spanish), which together comprise a representative corpus of conservation literature. Over 3500 articles were collected, classified, and analysed. With the aid of data visualisation software (Tableau public) the information was transformed into the interactive graphs and charts presented here.
